The Hidden Lake Hotel promotes a safe, sustainable future for business and the environment. One of the advantages of a contemporary design and build is the opportunity to incorporate environmental features and sustainable practices. This opportunity was crucial to the hotel design. Energy efficiency has been approached with a long-term mindset – we want to care for the environment we are operating in by reducing our footprint and doing all we can to minimise our impact.

We practice responsible tourism, with no single paper or plastic use. Check-in is electronic. “Do not disturb” messaging has been replaced by subtle digital notification. You’ll notice and appreciate how small changes like these can make a big difference.

Hidden Lake Hotel supports local sustainable businesses including Waikato Farmers Market, Alexander Organics and Zealong Teas. Regular environmental audits are conducted to ensure the hotel is meeting its environmental strategies and targets.
